According to reports from Ghana, 41-year-old Swiss coach Nora Häuptle has signed a two-year contract to lead the Zambia women’s national football team. Häuptle, a UEFA Pro License holder, brings extensive coaching experience to her new role.
Häuptle recently served as the head coach of the Ghana women’s national team, which she joined in January 2023. During her tenure, she guided Ghana to qualify for the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and led the team through a competitive campaign in the 2024 Summer Olympics qualifiers, where Ghana narrowly lost to Zambia 4-3 on aggregate.

The Swiss tactician has also previously managed the Israel women’s national team, showcasing her ability to perform at the international level. However, she reportedly chose not to renew her contract with Ghana, opting for a fresh challenge in Zambia.
Despite the reports, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has not yet released an official statement confirming Häuptle’s appointment. Fans and analysts are eagerly awaiting FAZ's announcement to confirm this significant development for the Copper Queens.
Stay tuned for updates on this story and the future of Zambia women’s football under Häuptle’s leadership.
