HIGH-GRADE PETTINESS: Bruce Mwape Drop Margaret Belemu

In their wisdom or lack thereof, FAZ president and Copper Queens coach Bruce Mwape have dropped the team’s best performing defender, Margaret Belemu, for reasons unrelated to football.

Belemu, a mesmerizing wingback, will not be part of the Morocco friendly next.

The two-match outing itself is now in limbo due to the earthquake that struck the North African country with over 2000 people dead.

FAZ informers have disclosed that Belemu’s dropping from the team has nothing to do with match fitness or performance but some petty reasons that have been shared.

In due course, those petty reasons will be made public here.

Also missing from the list is winger Xiomara Mapepa, the Elite Ladies winger now on loan to Green Buffaloes.

Mwape has not created room for assessment of Zambian players born in the USA like

Inonge Kaloustian and Phenny Mulenga.
