ZAMBIAN CLUBS AT RISK OF EXIT IN BOTH CAF COMPETITIONS

With only one team representing Zambia in the CAF Champions league and CAF Confederations Cup respectively, Zambia is at risk of having both it's eliminated before the group stage of both tournaments. This follows after recording results that have put both teams with quite a lot of work to do in their 2nd leg matches.
Power Dynamos in the Champions league playoff at home were held by 2-2 against Tanzanian giants Simba SC which means Simba have the away goal advantage over Aba Yellow and they'd only need a goalless draw to qualify. This put Power in a do-or-die situation as they will be required to grab a victory in Dar es Salaam and this is really where Power need to defy all odds, looking at the intensity and the energy of the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium which makes it hard for away teams to outshine Simba. Simba SC has never lost any home a game against a Zambian side in CAF competitions since 1976 against Green Buffaloes in which they lost 1-0. Their first home game against a Zambian was in this tournament against Green Buffaloes in 1974 in which they won 9-0 before losing to the same opponent in 1976 by 1-0. Their 3rd home game was against Nkana in 2002 in the CAF Champions league whom they beat 3-0. They'd face go on to face Nkana again 16 years later in 2018 in the same competition whom they beat 3-1 and also Red Arrows in the CAF confederations cup whom they beat 3-0 in 2021. Their 6th competitive home game against Zambia awaits on 30th September, 2023 with a goal record of 18 goals scored and only 2 goals conceded, can Power break this 47-year old undefeated home record that Simba has over Zambian clubs and advance to the group stage of the competition?
MUZA on the other hand, representing Zambia in the CAF confederation Cup were beaten 2-1 at Heroes National stadium against Diables Niors of Congo. It also doesn't look good for the debutantes as they also need a win with a difference of 2 or more goals to advance to the group stage of the competition. This is a very tough situation looking for MUZA looking at how tough it is to pull up an upset in an away encounter. Can MUZA put a surprise, overturn the deficit and advance? Mark your calendars, 1st October 2023 is the date.
ALL THE BEST OUR CAF ENVOYS!!!
