CHIPOLOPOLO DEPART FOR CRUCIAL BAFANA BAFANA CLASH IN PORT ELIZABETH

13.11.2025 | Football DNA

The Chipolopolo have departed for Port Elizabeth as they prepare for Saturday’s FIFA Window international friendly against South Africa. Coach Moses Sichone has called up a 33-man squad, with four foreign-based players traveling with the local contingent aboard South African Airways at 14:30.

Sichone will lead an all-local technical bench, including Perry Mutapa, Andrew Sinkala, Noel Mwandila, Kennedy Mweene, and Joseph Musonda. The foreign-based contingent features Fashion Sakala, Andrew Phiri, Benson Sakala, and Joseph Sabobo Banda, while Austria-based Jack Lahne is set to join the squad in Port Elizabeth to compete for a place in the team.

The Chipolopolo will be without Israel-based Kings Kangwa due to injury, while Lecce’s Lameck Banda is unavailable for family reasons. Power Dynamos players have been exempted from the South Africa assignment, and Zesco United players will miss the Angola friendly on Tuesday, as both clubs have CAF commitments next week. Austria-based goalkeeper Kingston Mutandwa will also be unavailable.

Zambia is using the two international friendlies against South Africa and Angola to prepare for the Morocco 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, where the Chipolopolo are drawn in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Mali, and Comoros.
