Fashion Sakala, a notable Zambian footballer currently playing in Saudi Arabia, has raised concerns about the fairness and transparency of the selection process within FAZ. His statements have resonated with other stakeholders who share similar concerns, creating a wave of demands for accountability and transparency within the association.

In response to these grave allegations, FAZ has announced it will undertake an extensive internal investigation to address the issues. Recognizing the importance of an unbiased and thorough examination, FAZ is also encouraging all concerned parties to report any relevant information to the Ethics Committee. This committee, operating under the mandate provided by Article 59 of the FAZ constitution, will spearhead the investigations.

Reuben Kamanga, the FAZ General Secretary, emphasized the importance of a meticulous approach: "Matters of this nature require thorough investigations, and therefore members of the public and all relevant stakeholders are encouraged to bring forth evidence to put this matter to bed."

FAZ has committed to maintaining transparency throughout this process and will provide updates on the progress and any subsequent actions. The association is calling on the public and stakeholders to support the investigation by submitting any pertinent evidence or information to ensure a comprehensive review.

This move by FAZ to address allegations of selection bias underscores the association's commitment to fairness and integrity in Zambian football. The upcoming investigations will be crucial in restoring trust and ensuring that the best interests of the sport and its players are upheld.
