The Zambian government, through the Ministry of Youth, Sport, and Arts, has expressed its warm approval of the Football Association of Zambia's (FAZ) decision to appoint Swiss national Nora Hauptle as the new head coach of the Copper Queens on a three-year contract.

In a statement, the government highlighted Hauptle's impressive credentials and expressed confidence that her expertise would further strengthen the progress already achieved in women’s football. The Ministry noted that her leadership is expected to elevate the Copper Queens to even greater success on the international stage.

The government also pledged its unwavering support for the Copper Queens and Hauptle during her tenure. Additionally, Hon. Elvis Nkandu, Minister of Youth, Sport, and Arts, extended gratitude to outgoing coach Bruce Mwape for his remarkable contributions since his appointment in 2018.

Under Mwape's guidance, the Copper Queens achieved historic milestones, including qualification for the FIFA Women's World Cup and two Olympic Games—Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024. The Ministry recognized his efforts in shaping the team into a force to be reckoned with in international football.

With Hauptle now at the helm, hopes are high for continued growth and success for the Copper Queens.
