Zanaco FC head coach Numba Mumamba has sent a strong message to MTN Super League rivals following his side’s hard-fought 1-0 victory away to Konkola Blades on Saturday.
Brian Kabika struck the decisive goal in the 81st minute, earning all three points for the Bankers and extending their unbeaten run in the league.
Speaking after the match, a confident Numba expressed belief in his team’s consistency and resilience, declaring that Zanaco will be a tough side to dethrone this season.
“It won’t be an easy thing to remove us from the top of the log because Zanaco isn’t the same team as last season. You’ve seen that we are now able to pick up results because of the quality players we’ve brought in,” said coach Numba.
Zanaco FC have now gone eight matches unbeaten, registering five wins and three draws, to sit top of the MTN Super League table with 18 points.

The coach also shared his short-term goals, highlighting the team’s desire to return to the prestigious ABSA Cup.
“Our aim is to qualify for the ABSA Cup because it has been a while since we last participated. Our primary objective is to work hard in the first round and ensure we are among the teams that will feature in the competition,” he added.
With his wealth of experience in the MTN Super League, Numba Mumamba has impressively transformed Zanaco from last season’s relegation struggles into serious title contenders.
As it stands, Red Arrows (with one game in hand) and Power Dynamos (with three games in hand) remain the only teams capable of dislodging Zanaco FC from the summit of the table.
