Kalu, Malitoli Appointed to FAZ National Team Sub-Committee

The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) has reportedly named several prominent football figures to serve on its newly constituted standing committees, with former FAZ president Kalusha Bwalya and football icon Kenneth ‘Bubble’ Malitoli among those appointed to the National Team Technical Sub Committee.
According to a statement released by FAZ on 1st July 2025, the association indicated that these appointments followed extensive consultations with key stakeholders in Zambian football. FAZ General Secretary Reuben Kamanga is said to have explained that the process was aimed at ensuring the committees were comprised of individuals whose expertise would significantly contribute to the growth of the game.
Kamanga was quoted as saying that the thorough scrutiny of candidates was intended to secure the best possible team to drive Zambian football forward. He further disclosed that the appointments for some remaining committees would be made public at a later date.
FAZ also confirmed that former FAZ Technical Director Honour Janza would take up the role of Vice Chairperson in the Football Development Committee, working alongside Chairperson Patrick Nyirenda and other seasoned football personalities.
The Referees Committee is reported to be under the leadership of former referees Gladys Lengwe and Janny Sikazwe, who will serve as Chairperson and Vice Chairperson respectively.
The statement outlined additional key appointments, including Nicholas Katiti Moomba heading the Players’ Status and Transfer Committee, David Simwinga chairing the Futsal & Beach Football Committee, and Samuel Mwape overseeing the Infrastructure Development Committee.
Meanwhile, the National Team Technical Sub Committee, where Kalusha Bwalya was named Vice Chairperson and Kenneth Malitoli a member, will be chaired on an interim basis by Keith Mweemba. Other notable members appointed to this sub-committee include Patrick Phiri and Dan Kabwe.
FAZ Communications Manager Sydney Mungala, who issued the statement on behalf of the association, indicated that these committees are expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Zambian football.
