Kanyemba Names 35-Member Provisional Squad for FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup

The road to the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup is officially underway for Zambia’s Copper Princesses. Head coach Carol Kanyemba has unveiled a 35-member provisional squad that will begin preparations for the global showpiece set for 17 October to 8 November 2025.
Leading the team is captain Mercy Chipasula, who headlines a strong mix of local and international talent. She is joined by experienced defenders Nana Malanda, Natasha Nkaka, Precious Mwape, midfield maestro Taonga Mubanga, and prolific striker Masela Sekeseke.
The Copper Princesses are making their return to the World Cup stage, where they will compete in Group F alongside Japan, New Zealand, and Paraguay. Zambia will kick off their campaign against Paraguay on 19 October, face Japan on 22 October, and conclude the group stage against New Zealand on 25 October.
