In a statement to Phoenix FM Sports News in Lusaka, Mr. Haimbe expressed his excitement about the project. He explained that the first edition will focus solely on football, offering young athletes a platform to showcase their skills to professional scouts. He also highlighted plans to expand the event to include other sports in the future, creating more opportunities for young talent across various disciplines.

December 21st & 22nd: Bauleni Grounds

December 23rd: Queensmead Stadium or Munis Sports Club

A Collaborative Effort

The tournament is being organized in partnership with the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), accredited football agents, and other local stakeholders. Its primary goal is to provide a platform for young athletes to unlock professional career opportunities while positively impacting their communities.

Mr. Haimbe has called on leaders within Lusaka Central Constituency—including youth and women’s leadership structures—as well as local stakeholders to rally behind the initiative. He stressed the importance of collective support in ensuring the success of the tournament and nurturing Zambia’s next generation of football stars.

Looking Ahead

Residents and football enthusiasts are encouraged to attend the tournament to cheer on the young athletes and celebrate the power of sports to inspire change and foster growth.

This event promises not only to highlight young talent but also to create lasting opportunities that will shape the future of sports in Zambia.
