FAZ President Keith Mweemba has urged the Chipolopolo to remain united, confident, and focused as they continue their AFCON 2025 campaign, following Tuesday’s hard-fought 1–1 draw against Mali.

Speaking to the squad in the dressing room after the match, Mweemba stressed that belief, togetherness and collective responsibility will be crucial in Zambia’s journey at the tournament.

“Let us have faith, hope and love for each other. We must stay united,” he told the players.

The FAZ President applauded the team’s spirit and resilience against a strong Malian side, noting that their determination was rewarded with Patson Daka’s dramatic stoppage-time equaliser.

“I am happy that you never gave up. The character and fighting spirit you showed were excellent, and your fitness levels were very good,” he said.

While acknowledging Mali’s quality, Mweemba emphasized the importance of the point gained, describing it as vital for Zambia’s campaign.

“Mali are a good team, and this point is very important for us. It keeps us alive.”

Looking ahead, he encouraged the players to approach their next match against Comoros with confidence and self-belief.

“We must beat Comoros. Don’t doubt yourselves. Sometimes it is good to be underrated. We live to fight another day. We are still Copper Bullets. Do not forget, we are Chipolopolo,” he added.

With unity and renewed belief, Chipolopolo will now shift full focus to their upcoming assignment as they continue their AFCON mission.
