Zambia Under-20 Women’s National Team head coach Charity Nthala has unveiled a 34-member provisional squad ahead of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Burundi scheduled for September 19 and 27, 2025.

Nthala has retained the core group that powered Zambia to the COSAFA U20 Women’s Championship title, as the young Copper Queens continue their quest for a historic first-ever appearance at the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

The squad has already regrouped in Lusaka for the initial phase of preparations. Zambia will battle Burundi over two legs in the third round, with the winner progressing to face either Uganda or Namibia in the next stage.

The qualifiers feature four rounds in total, with the victors of the third round advancing to a decisive final clash against the overall winners of the (Togo vs Tunisia x Ghana vs Eswatini/South Africa) fixtures for a coveted ticket to the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
