NYIRENDA UNVEILS 30-MEMBER CHAN PROVISIONAL SQUAD

Coach Wedson Nyirenda has announced his 30-member provisional squad for the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF CHAN 2024 tournament, which will take place from February 1-28, 2025, across Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. The squad features a blend of experienced players and promising new talent, reflecting the depth of Zambia’s local football scene.


Preparations in Full Swing

The Chipolopolo squad is set to enter residential camp over the weekend to ramp up preparations for the tournament. Zambia is one of 18 teams to qualify for the CHAN and now awaits the final draw to determine its group-stage opponents and base.

The team secured its CHAN spot in unconventional fashion, following the withdrawal of Mozambique in the final qualifying round. Prior to this, Nyirenda's charges had been holding weekly training camps to prepare the locally-based players.
