Chipolopolo head coach Moses Sichone says he is not feeling any pressure ahead of Zambia’s crucial Group A clash against Comoros, despite the match being widely viewed as a potential decider at the ongoing AFCON 2025 tournament in Morocco.
Zambia faces Comoros tomorrow at the Mohammed V Stadium in Casablanca, following their opening 1–1 draw against Mali.
Speaking during pre-match media duties, Sichone said the technical bench has remained composed and is focused on maintaining tactical discipline, rather than piling pressure on the players.
“The game tomorrow is more of a decider, but I am not putting my players under pressure. I am not under pressure going into this game,” Sichone said.
He added that although Zambia has previously played against Comoros, past encounters will count for little, as every match demands a fresh approach.
“Every game is different and every game is prepared differently with a tailored formation. Having played Comoros before may not count,” he explained.
Sichone said there were encouraging signs from the draw against Mali, stressing that the team grew stronger and more confident as the match progressed.
“I saw a lot of positives in my players as the game against Mali progressed. That was one big takeaway for me.”

Meanwhile, Chipolopolo captain Fashion Sakala has reaffirmed the team’s determination to advance to the knockout stages.
“The team’s focus is still on progressing to the next stage,” Sakala said, describing the Mali result as a wake-up call.
Zambia will be aiming for a strong performance and a positive result as they continue their AFCON 2025 campaign.
Kick-off is scheduled for 19:30 hours (Zambian time).
