Chipolopolo midfielder Kings Kangwa says he hopes his current rich vein of form with Israeli side Hapoel Be’er Sheva will inspire him to propel Zambia to victory against Morocco on Monday.

Speaking to FAZ Media in Ndola, Kangwa admitted that the clash against the Atlas Lions will be a tough test, but he remains confident that the Chipolopolo are working hard to deliver a positive result.

“I am doing my best, my plan is to try by all means to be there for the team and take the same form, motivation and preparation to bring it here also. I am in good shape, and I will do my best to try to help the team,” Kangwa said.

The 25-year-old midfielder described Morocco as an exciting challenge for Zambia, noting that these are the kind of matches players look forward to.

“It is going to be a very difficult but exciting game. These are the games we look forward to, we are ready and doing everything. We can’t wait for Monday,” he added.

Kangwa also urged fans to rally behind the Chipolopolo when they take on the Atlas Lions at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

“So far so good, it is very hot, but we are getting used to it. We understand it is very difficult, we are trying everything, so stick with us and we are waiting for you to come give us support — we will do our best,” he said.

The highly anticipated Group E FIFA World Cup qualifier will kick off at 15h00.

Morocco head into the encounter already qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after thrashing Niger 5-0 to move to an unassailable 18 points. Tanzania sits second on 10 points after their 1-1 draw with bottom-placed Congo Brazzaville (1 point), while Zambia are third on 6 points.

Only the nine group winners will qualify automatically for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, with the four best runners-up battling for one slot in the FIFA Play-Off Tournament.
