There were frightening moments during a Serie A match after Lameck Banda collapsed on the pitch during SSC Napoli’s clash with US Lecce.

Napoli were leading late in the match with just four minutes remaining as Lecce pushed forward in search of an equaliser. However, as the visitors prepared to take a free-kick in a dangerous position, play was suddenly stopped after players and officials noticed Banda lying on the turf.

Medical personnel rushed onto the field immediately to attend to the 25-year-old winger, with a stretcher brought onto the pitch as the situation unfolded. After receiving treatment for several minutes, the Zambia international was carefully carried off the field and taken to an ambulance that was stationed at the stadium.
