Zambia Stays Focused Amid Uncertainty Over Mozambique CHAN Qualifier
As uncertainty looms over Zambia’s back-to-back CHAN qualifiers against Mozambique due to political unrest in the country, Coach Wedson "Wada Wada" Nyirenda has assured fans that the team remains steadfast in its preparations.

Speaking about the team's progress, Coach Wada expressed optimism and confidence, stating, “I think it is looking good. We are progressing. The players are looking more comfortable with the ball and the competition is very high. It’s good for the nation as we build a strong pool of talent.”
The coach acknowledged that while the team is not yet at its peak, they are making significant strides toward readiness. “We are still shaping up, but I think a lot has been good with the players. In the next camp, we shall polish the team further, and we are confident of finalizing a competitive squad,” he added.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding the matches, the technical bench and players are approaching preparations with seriousness and discipline. “We cannot take it for granted that the game will not take off. All our logistics and programs are going on at the same pace and timing. The players have been psyched to remain focused, and they see how serious the coaching staff is,” Wada explained.
The coach emphasized that until official communication is received from the highest authorities about the status of the matches, the team will continue training as planned. He highlighted the importance of maintaining professionalism and ensuring the players are mentally and physically prepared for any eventuality.
This unwavering focus and commitment reflect Zambia's determination to stay ready for the challenge, regardless of the circumstances. Whether the qualifiers proceed or not, the Copper Bullets are leaving no stone unturned as they strive for success on the continental stage.
Stay tuned for updates as the situation develops.
