ZESCO United Football Club has officially announced the appointment of Kelvin Mutafu as the club’s new Chief Executive Officer. The seasoned football administrator, who brings over two decades of experience to the role, steps in at a crucial time as the club continues strengthening its administrative and technical structures.
Club Chairperson Patricia Muisya said the appointment marks an important step in the club’s drive to build a solid foundation for future success. She emphasized that Mutafu’s extensive background—spanning roles at Nkana Football Club, the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), and Forest Rangers—positions him well to lead the club forward.
Mutafu expressed enthusiasm for the challenge ahead, noting that his focus is on leaving ZESCO United in a stronger position. He added that he looked forward to working closely with the team and stakeholders to drive progress.
The club also acknowledged outgoing acting CEO James Ngoma for his contributions during the transition period.
In addition to the leadership appointment, ZESCO United announced changes to the technical bench. Emmanuel Siwale has taken up the role of Head Coach, while Mathews “Shebeleza” Ndhlovu will lead CAF competition responsibilities. Clive Hachilensa has been named first assistant coach, with Jacob Banda appointed as Goalkeeper Coach, Winston Kalenga as Physical Trainer, and Mwape Mwelwa as Technical Analyst.
The club expressed confidence that the new leadership and technical adjustments will help shape a stable and ambitious future for ZESCO United.
