Chipolopolo coach Avram Grant has announced a 27-member provisional squad for the crucial Group E FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Morocco and Tanzania. The team will face Morocco in Agadir on June 7 before hosting the Taifa Stars at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium four days later.
Grant has opted for a blend of experience and youth, aiming for a strong performance in these pivotal matches. Notably, Italy-based Lameck Banda (Lecce) misses out due to injury after surgery, and Clatous Chama is also absent due to a recent injury.
The squad will be trimmed further following an international camp leading up to these significant fixtures. Currently, Zambia sits second in the group standings, tied on points with leaders Morocco, who have a better goal difference. Niger trails in third place with the same points tally.
