Chipolopolo head coach Avram Grant has announced a 25-member provisional squad for Zambia’s upcoming FIFA international friendlies against Sudan and Tunisia, scheduled to take place in Morocco during the June international window.
The Chipolopolo will take on Sudan on June 6, followed by a clash with Tunisia on June 10. These friendlies form a crucial part of the team’s preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers, with Zambia set to host Morocco in September before taking on Tanzania and Niger in October in Group E action.
Beyond the immediate qualifiers, Grant and his technical bench are focused on maintaining competitive momentum ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), also to be hosted in Morocco this December. Zambia qualified for the tournament in style, finishing top of Group G with 13 points, ahead of African champions Côte d’Ivoire, Sierra Leone, and Chad — registering four wins, one draw, and one loss.
The provisional squad is expected to be trimmed before departure for Morocco, though the coaching staff has left room for additional call-ups ahead of the critical September qualifiers. Players will undergo fitness assessments during the preparation phase for the two friendlies.
