Copper Queens Train at Full Strength Ahead of Malawi Friendlies

The Zambia Women’s National Team, fondly known as the Copper Queens, has stepped up its preparations for the upcoming international friendlies against Malawi, with all 28 players now in camp at REIZ Arena (formerly Woodlands Stadium).
Coach Nora Häuptle received the final batch of foreign-based players, ensuring a full-strength squad ahead of the matches scheduled for Saturday, 22 February, and Tuesday, 25 February.

The latest arrivals include:
✅ Barbra Banda & Racheal Kundananji (USA)
✅ Lushomo Mweemba & Martha Tembo (Turkey)
✅ Kabange Mupopo (China)
✅ Racheal Nachula (Israel)
Additionally, Elite Ladies goalkeeper Chitete Munsaka has been called up to replace the injured ZESCO Ndola Girls shot-stopper Annie Namonje.
Match Preparations and WAFCON Focus
The friendlies against Malawi’s Scorchers serve as crucial preparation matches for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The team is expected to use these fixtures to fine-tune tactics, enhance squad cohesion, and build momentum ahead of the continental tournament.
Malawi’s squad has also arrived in Zambia and is set to have all players in camp by Thursday.
