Initially declared the sole eligible candidate, Kamanga was set for an easy re-election. However, following successful appeals from several previously disqualified candidates, the election is now a full contest.

Who is Back in the Race?

The EAC’s latest rulings have reinstated key candidates, including:

✅ Keith Mweemba – Now officially back in the presidential race.

✅ Emmanuel Munaile – Cleared to contest for FAZ President.

✅ Adrian Kashala – Successfully appealed his disqualification.

✅ Francis Hafwiti – Also reinstated as a presidential candidate.

✅ Kephas Katongo – Cleared to run for ZPL Chairperson.

Several other provincial and committee positions also saw successful appeals, overturning previous disqualifications.

❌ Godfrey Chikumbi – Appeal dismissed.

❌ Gideon Mwenya & Pivoty Simwanza – Disqualified from the vice-presidential race.

❌ Lackson Daka – Had his unopposed win nullified after an appeal by Given Mulenga.

Additionally, Chikusi Banda’s case has been referred to the FAZ General Secretary, as no official nomination form exists on file. Meanwhile, Musaka Pchanga remains absent from the reinstated list, raising questions about his disqualification.
