ZESCO United Parts Ways with CEO Mutafu, Suspends Technical Bench

ZESCO United Football Club has announced major changes within its management and technical structures following a review of the club’s performance.


In a press statement released by the club, ZESCO United confirmed that Chief Executive Officer Kelvin Mutafu has been separated from employment with immediate effect after an unsuccessful probation period. The club thanked Mutafu for his service during his tenure and wished him success in his future professional endeavors.


To ensure continuity in leadership, James Ngoma has been appointed as Acting Chief Executive Officer on a caretaker basis while the club makes further decisions regarding the position.


The club also confirmed adjustments to the technical bench as part of an ongoing review of the team’s performance. Head Coach Emmanuel Siwale and First Assistant Coach Clive Hachilensa have been temporarily suspended with immediate effect.


During this period, the technical bench will be overseen by Winston Kalengo, Mwape Mwelwa, Jacob Banda, Emmanuel Mschili, and Kondwani Mtonga, who have been tasked with guiding the team while the review process continues.


Club management stated that the decisions were made after careful consideration and in the best interest of the club and its stakeholders. ZESCO United reiterated its commitment to restoring strong performances and maintaining the standards and ambitions associated with the club.


The Ndola-based outfit also thanked supporters for their patience and continued support as the club works to stabilize its structures and improve results on the pitch.
